Khartoum, July 29, 20226 (SUNA) – The President of the Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Wednesday at his office in Khartoum with Tut Gatluak, Security Adviser to the President of the Republic of South Sudan. The meeting was attended by the Director General of the General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal; Ambassador Muawia Othman Khalid, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali Ahmed Subair, Director of Military Intelligence; and Lieutenant General Issam Mohamed Hassan Karrar, Sudan’s Ambassador to South Sudan. Speaking to the press, Tut Gatluak said he conveyed a verbal message from South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit to TSC President Al-Burhan concerning ways to strengthen bilateral relations and issues related to advancing peace and stability in both Sudan and South Sudan.He underscored the longstanding historical ties between the peoples of the two countries and stressed the importance of promoting stability and shared development. Gatluak said the meeting also discussed the transportation and transit of South Sudan’s oil through Sudan, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and ongoing efforts to support peace and stability. He added that he delivered an official invitation from President Salva Kiir Mayardit to TSC President General Al-Burhan to visit Juba for talks on the future of bilateral relations, reaching understandings on a number of issues, enhancing stability in the border areas, and establishing joint commercial zones to serve the interests of both peoples. He reaffirmed the commitment of the leaderships of both countries to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in light of their shared history and the deep bonds between the two peoples.BH/BH
