As part of his continued efforts to assess the health and service conditions in the country, Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, the Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eisir, and the Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman Hamza, conducted an inspection visit to Al-Salam Heart Surgery Center in Soba. He was received by the hospital administration and a number of medical and administrative staff. Professor Kamil Idris and the accompanying delegation toured the hospital, including the outpatient clinics, operating theatres, intensive care units, and recovery rooms. During the tour, the Prime Minister received a detailed briefing from the medical teams on the workflow, the key challenges facing the hospital under the current circumstances, and the efforts being made to ensure the continued provision of free cardiac treatment services to citizens. The Prime Minister expressed his great pride in the hospital and in the historic achievement of performing more than 10,000 open-heart surgeries at this world-class medical facility located in the heart of Khartoum State. He praised the center’s significant humanitarian role and outstanding medical services as a world-class healthcare institution serving Sudan and neighboring countries, commending the tremendous efforts of the medical, technical, nursing, and administrative teams in maintaining the continuity of this vital facility. He affirmed that the hospital is among the greatest medical facilities in the world, providing high-level healthcare services, including complex and specialized procedures such as heart surgery. He praised the supervision and support provided by the Ministry of Health and Khartoum State, as well as their continuous efforts to develop the facility. He also expressed hope that this world-class institution would serve as a model and a source for establishing specialized hospitals across Sudan’s states. For its part, the hospital administration expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister for the visit, noting that it reflects the government’s commitment to developing cardiac care services and removing obstacles hindering the provision of medical care to patients.BH/BH
