Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim commended the efforts of White Nile State in implementing the electronic collection and payment system, describing it as a step that supports the government’s digital transformation agenda and public finance reform efforts. During his meeting on Thursday with White Nile State Wali Lieutenant General (Ret.) Qamar Al-Din Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla, in the presence of directors of the Ministry’s general administrations, the Minister pledged to seek the provision of possible support for Al-Mallah Agricultural Project, describing it as an important project for producing strategic crops that contribute to achieving food security in the country and supplying neighboring countries. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to exempting agricultural machinery from customs duties and fees as part of agricultural production inputs, as well as enabling livelihood projects in the state to benefit from such exemptions. For his part, the Wali of White Nile State provided a detailed briefing on the state’s efforts in agricultural development and its support for national endeavors to achieve food security. He also highlighted the state government’s commitment to electronic collection in its transactions, with implementation exceeding 90 percent, noting the state’s need for electronic devices and equipment to further strengthen its successful experience in this field. The Wali also announced the upcoming opening of a referral hospital in the state and reviewed the state’s needs in the areas of health, education, and roads.BH/BH
