Katara Opens Applications for 10th Quran Recitation Award

Doha, August 03 (QNA) – The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara ) has opened applications for the 10th Holy Quran Recitation Award under the motto of amplifying beautiful recitation voices.
It said submissions shall start on Monday, Aug. 3, with Sept. 30, 2026, being the deadline for receiving applications.
The award intends to encourage and explore stellar talents in terms of reading and recitation, ultimately identifying the most beautiful voices and recognizing outstanding readers based on the rules of Tajweed, while honoring distinguished and creative reciters.
The award’s judging panel consists of three experts in Quranic readings and Tajweed rules, and three specialists in maqamat, vocal quality, and melody.
Katara will produce and release a full audio recording of the Quran recited by the first-place winner at Katara Studios.
The total prize pool for the award is QAR 800,000, with the first-place winner receiving QAR 500,000, the second-place winner receiving QAR 200,000, and the third-place winner receiving QAR 100,000.
The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has been the official sponsor of the award since its launch in 2017. (QNA)
