Amman, August 04 (QNA) – Jordan’s Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation has signed the four-year Strategic Objectives Agreement on bilateral cooperation with the United States of America, worth $354.6 million.

This is the first-of-its-kind deal reached with the current US administration and would help support the Jordanian government’s efforts to implement an array of national priorities outlined in the Economic Modernization Vision.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan said the Jordan-US relationship is marked by a strategic character, emphasizing that the US is a key partner in supporting the national development pathway.

In essence, the deal is structured around supporting Jordanian priorities through strengthening water security in the long run, boosting economic resilience and self-reliance.

This will be achieved by implementing programs and projects in critical sectors, notably water and sanitation, energy, education, tourism, and fostering economic opportunities. (QNA)
