TSC Member Abdullah Yahya Reaffirms State Commitment to Supporting Reconstruction Efforts

Khartoum, 4 August 2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Abdullah Yahya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting reconstruction efforts through cooperation among state institutions, the private sector, and regional and international partners to advance the New Urban Agenda and achieve sustainable development goals. Speaking at the opening of the 15th Session of the National Council for Urban Development, Yahya praised the council’s role in shaping Sudan’s urban development policies and said the country is at a critical stage requiring unified national efforts to rebuild war-affected areas, promote sustainable development, and prioritize human development alongside physical reconstruction. He described reconstruction as a comprehensive national project aimed at revitalizing cities, restoring essential services, creating conditions for the return of citizens, and strengthening production and investment. He also called on international partners and friends of Sudan to support the country’s reconstruction and recovery programs. Yahya commended the efforts of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and supporting forces in restoring security and praised the resilience and support of the Sudanese people.BH/BH
