Washington, August 06 (QNA) – Qatar national athletics team member Abdulrahman Ibrahim qualified today for the final of the hammer throw in his first appearance at the World Athletics U20 Championships, currently being held in the United States.
Abdulrahman recorded a throw of 71.70 meters to secure a place in the final and will compete for one of the medals.
Qatar was represented at the championships by six athletes: Abdullah Al Abdullah in the pole vault, Abdulrahman Al Malki in the high jump, Abdulrahman Ibrahim in the hammer throw, Hamad Dhawi in the discus throw, Yousef Abdulaziz in the 400 meters, and Mohammed Waheed in the 1,500 meters.
The hammer throw final will be held tomorrow, Friday, while Yousef Abdulaziz will compete in the 400-meter event on the same day. (QNA)
