Amman, Aug. 7 (Petra)– Tens of thousands of worshippers performed
Friday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in Jerusalem
despite heightened restrictions and measures imposed by Israeli
occupation forces on worshippers.
The Islamic Awqaf Department in Jerusalem said tens of thousands of
worshippers attended Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to
Palestinian media reports.
Israeli forces imposed restrictions on worshippers’ access to the
mosque and erected metal barriers around the gates of the Old City
and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The forces also prevented dozens of young men from entering Al-Aqsa
Mosque to perform Friday prayer after stopping them, checking their
identification documents and subjecting them to security checks.
