Ajloun, Aug. 8 (Petra) — Participants in the ninth international
conference of the Ajloun branch of the Jordan Medical Association
(JMA) called for stronger integration and partnership among
government, military, university, and private medical sectors to
improve the quality of healthcare.

The three-day conference, held at the Cultural Centre and concluding
on Saturday, discussed 329 papers.

Participants called for developing referral systems and electronic
connectivity among healthcare institutions and facilitating
information exchange to ensure patients quickly receive appropriate
care while safeguarding the confidentiality of their data.

They also called for supporting continuing medical education and
scientific research through training programs and joint academic
partnerships to enhance the skills of doctors and healthcare
professionals and keep pace with medical advances.

The participants stressed the importance of improving healthcare
quality and patient safety by applying quality and healthcare
accreditation standards, strengthening the use of performance
indicators and continuously improving health services.

They also recommended forming a committee to follow up on the
implementation of the conference’s recommendations in coordination
with relevant health authorities and translating the conference’s
outcomes into practical, implementable initiatives and programs.

The conference was held under the theme “Enhancing Healthcare Quality
Through Integration Among Medical Sectors” under the patronage of
Royal Medical Services Director-General Brig. Gen. Dr. Sahl
Al-Hamouri.
