Amman, Aug. 10 (Petra) The Cybercrime Unit at the Criminal
Investigation Department is monitoring several fake social media
accounts claiming they can obtain or manipulate high school (Tawjihi)
students’ grades in exchange for money.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) stated on Monday that certain
social media accounts use fake links and interfaces designed to mimic
official websites, as well as pages and content created or modified
using artificial intelligence, to deceive people into believing that
students’ grades can be obtained or altered.

The PSD media department stated that claims promoted by these
accounts are completely false and are intended to defraud Jordanians
by exploiting the anxiety of students and their families.

It urged Jordanians not to interact with the fake accounts or links,
provide any personal or financial information or transfer money to
those operating them, warning that doing so could make them victims
of online fraud.

It cautioned against clicking on or sharing suspicious links and
relying exclusively on official sources and relevant authorities for
high school results and related information.

Jordanians were further cautioned against being misled by
advertisements or offers promoted by unknown accounts.

The Cybercrime Unit reaffirmed that it is monitoring the accounts and
will take legal action against those responsible.

It urged Jordanians to report any suspicious accounts or links and to
remain vigilant against attempts to exploit them or their children
through such scams.
