Ajloun, Aug. 12 (Petra) — A local dialogue session in Ajloun
discussed youth participation in political and party life and ways to
strengthen communication between young people and political parties.

The session was organized by the Change Agents Center for Sustainable
Development in Ajloun Governorate, with support from the King
Abdullah II Fund for Development through the Empowerment Window for
supporting political projects. It was held under the project “From
Vision to Implementation: Investing in Youth for a Promising
Political Future.”

The meeting was the first in a series of local dialogue sessions
being held in the governorate to bring young people together with
representatives of political parties, civil society organizations and
local leaders. The discussions focused on issues related to youth
participation in public life and the development of practical
recommendations reflecting their priorities.

Thirteen young people participated alongside representatives of
political parties, civil society organizations and local leaders.
Discussions covered youth participation in party activities,
challenges facing young people and opportunities to increase their
involvement in decision-making and positions of influence.

The participants also discussed the role of political parties in
preparing and supporting young political leaders and whether party
programs address youth priorities in education, training, employment,
economic empowerment, entrepreneurship and local development.

The session further considered ways to develop sustainable
partnerships between political parties and young people based on
dialogue, participation in public policy and mutual trust.

Project Director Riham Qudah said the sessions provide an opportunity
for young people to present their views and priorities directly to
party representatives and local decision-makers. She said the project
aims to turn the discussions into practical recommendations that
address youth needs and contribute to political and party development
at the local level.

Participants Montaser Al-Qudah, Haitham Arifej, Mamdouh Zghoul and
Ahmad Batoush highlighted the role of political parties in engaging
young people in political life and stressed the need to provide them
with opportunities to assume leadership and influential positions
within parties.

They also stressed the importance of continued youth participation in
political and party life and called on political parties to clearly
define their political identities and positions and communicate them
to the public. This, they said, would help young people understand
the orientations of different parties and choose those that align
with their views and aspirations, contributing to the national
interest and effective political participation.
