Amsterdam, August 12 (QNA) – Former Spain international midfielder Xavi Hernandez has been appointed head coach of the Netherlands national football team, succeeding Ronald Koeman, who resigned following the 2026 World Cup, the Dutch Football Association announced today, Wednesday.
The 46-year-old coach, who led Barcelona to the Spanish league title in 2023, signed a contract running through the 2030 World Cup, which will be held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with several matches also taking place in Latin America.
According to the Dutch Football Association, Xavi’s contract will also see him lead the Netherlands at UEFA Euro 2028. (QNA)
