Ahmedabad, August 14 (QNA) – Qatar’s U18 basketball team lost Friday 69-94 to Iran in their opening Group C match at the Asian Youth Basketball Championship, being held in India through August 23.
Iran led the first, second and fourth quarters, while Qatar won the third 26-21.
China also opened strongly with a 103-55 win over Sri Lanka, leaving China top of Group C, level on points with Iran. Qatar sit third with one point.
Qatar will face China on Sunday before meeting Sri Lanka on Tuesday, with both games crucial to their hopes of reaching the knockout stages. (QNA)
