Amman, August 15 (Petra) – The Jordan Engineers Association (JEA)
honoured the winners of its 2025 graduation projects competition,
along with outstanding projects in the industrial, traffic and
transport sectors, at a ceremony held at King Hussein Business Park
under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan.

In a speech delivered on her behalf by Princess Sumaya University for
Technology President Wajdan Abu Al Haija, Princess Sumaya said that
engineering is a national necessity in an era of artificial
intelligence, digital transformation and sustainability.

She noted the contributions of Jordanian engineers to national
development, calling for stronger links between universities and
industry to turn research and student projects into practical
solutions, companies, jobs and economic value.

The Princess praised projects addressing renewable energy, smart
cities, traffic and waste management, water-saving agriculture,
digital health, robotics and artificial intelligence.

She urged students to become innovators who bridge science and the
market, noting that the greatest reward for an engineering project is
its real-world impact.

JEA President Abdullah Ghosheh said the ceremony celebrates not only
project winners but the beginning of a journey that can turn student
ideas into businesses, inventions, systems and solutions to national
challenges.

He called for strengthening cooperation among universities,
professional associations and the labour market. He said that
successful graduation projects should address real problems, create
value and consider economic, environmental, and sustainability
factors.

He added that the association will continue supporting promising
projects and connecting them with productive and economic sectors.

Yasmin Murad, head of the association’s Graduation Projects
Committee, said the competition reflects the association’s commitment
to education, research, innovation and empowering Jordanian youth.

She said that this year’s competition involved 17 Jordanian
universities, around 300 students and 150 academic and engineering
judges.

The competition introduced a digitised application process, 11 new
awards, an enhanced judging model, more judges per project and
stronger safeguards for independent, confidential, fair and
transparent evaluation.
