Moscow, August 17 (QNA) – Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Monday that its forces had targeted three cargo ships and two oil tankers at Ukraine’s Odesa port that were being used by the Ukrainian armed forces.
The ministry said in a statement that attack drones struck three dry cargo vessels and two oil tankers at the port that were being used to transport cargo intended for military purposes, as well as fuel and lubricants for Ukrainian forces. It said fuel tanks and warehouses containing military equipment were also targeted.
It also said Russian forces had struck a cargo ship in the Black Sea, east of Odesa, which it said was carrying Western-supplied weapons to Ukraine.
The ministry said two days earlier that Russian forces had carried out strikes on infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military at the port of Odesa in southwestern Ukraine.
Russia and Ukraine have continued to exchange strikes on military and critical infrastructure, with both sides issuing near-daily statements on battlefield developments, including claims of drone interceptions and casualties that cannot be independently verified. (QNA)
