Nine Militants Killed in Security Operations in Southwest Pakistan

Islamabad, August 18 (QNA) – Pakistani security authorities said Tuesday that nine militants were killed in security operations in the country’s southwest.
Local police said the operations were carried out after intelligence reports indicated that militants were present in the Ziarat, Harnai and Surab districts of Balochistan province. Security forces clashed with members of the groups, killing nine and seizing weapons and ammunition, police added, saying that clearance operations remain underway in those areas and elsewhere in southwestern Pakistan
The latest operations came two days after Pakistani authorities reported that 17 militants had been killed and others wounded in two separate military operations in the same region. (QNA)
