Lebanese President: Lebanon to Handle Reconstruction after Israeli Forces’ Withdrawal

Beirut, August 18 (QNA) – Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun on Tuesday affirmed that reconstruction will be undertaken by the Lebanese government following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the south and the deployment of the Lebanese Army up to the international border.
Speaking during a meeting with Canadian Minister of State for International Development Randeep Sarai, Aoun said that Lebanon welcomes Canadian support to help facilitate the return of southerners to their villages and provide them with housing, particularly in the villages and towns destroyed by Israel.
For his part, Sarai affirmed his country’s commitment to Lebanon’s stability and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. (QNA)
