Amman, Aug. 18 (Petra) — The Higher Committee of the Royal
Initiative Grant (Makruma) for the Children of Tribes in Jordan’s
Desert Schools and Schools with Special Circumstances at the Ministry
of Education and Human Resources Development announced that
applications for the 2026–2027 academic year opened Tuesday and will
run through next Tuesday at midnight.

Applications can be submitted electronically from Tuesday until
midnight next Tuesday through the website of the Unified Admission
Coordination Unit at www.admhec.gov.jo

The unit said applicants must pay a JD5 application fee
electronically through the Central Bank of Jordan’s eFAWATEERcom bill
payment service after submitting and saving their grant application.

Eligibility requirements include Jordanian citizenship and submission
of an electronic application for admission through the Unified
Admission Coordination Unit before applying for the Royal Grant.

Applicants must also have obtained the Jordanian General Secondary
Education Certificate, or Tawjihi, in 2026 only through regular
study, with a minimum average of 65%. They must have spent their
final two academic years at a secondary school covered by the Royal
Grant for the current year.

Alternatively, students may qualify if they spent at least seven
years at a feeder school for a secondary school covered by the grant
and subsequently transferred for academic, social, or official
reasons approved by the higher committee.

Applicants must submit their grant applications electronically
through the unit’s website. Graduates of private schools and students
enrolled in private-study programs are not eligible.

The schools covered by the Royal Grant were designated by the
Ministry of Education in accordance with the regulations governing
the Royal Initiative Grant (Makruma) for the Children of Tribes in
Jordan’s Desert Schools and Schools with Special Circumstances.

Students can check the list of eligible schools by governorate
through the Unified Admission Coordination Unit’s website at Eligible
Schools List (https://www.admhec.gov.jo/RulesRoyalitySchools.aspx).

Regarding required official documents, the unit said students who
transferred from a school covered by the grant in the current year
and whose parents are government employees required by the nature of
their work to move from one governorate to another but who did not
complete the required final two years at the eligible school must
provide a certificate from their parent’s employer stating the date
and reason for the transfer. The certificate must be uploaded through
the application system for consideration by the higher committee.

Students who spent at least seven years at feeder schools for
secondary schools covered by the grant and transferred for academic,
social, or official reasons must provide a certificate confirming
their attendance at those schools. The certificate must be signed and
certified by the relevant school administrations and education
directorates, using the newly approved form circulated to education
directorates, and must state the reason for the transfer before being
uploaded through the application system.

To apply, students must access the Unified Admission Coordination
Unit’s website, select the bachelor’s degree section, and click on
the link for Royal Grant applications. They must then enter their
national number and the password they created when submitting their
electronic unified admission application.

Students eligible because they spent their final two academic years
at a secondary school covered by the grant must save their grant
application after accessing it, after which an electronic payment
number will appear.

Students qualifying through attendance at feeder schools must upload
the required certified certificate stating the reason for their
transfer and then save their application. An electronic payment
number will subsequently be generated.

Applicants must use the electronic payment number to pay the JD5
application fee through eFAWATEERcom. Failure to make the payment
will mean the application is considered incomplete.
