Cairo, August 20 (QNA) – HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met in Cairo on Thursday with HE Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Nabil Fahmy.
At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency congratulated the Secretary-General of the Arab League on the confidence placed in him by the member states, wishing him success in supporting the League’s mission.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also affirmed the State of Qatar’s keen interest in strengthening joint action with the League of Arab States and consolidating cooperative relations, in order to fulfill the aspirations of the Arab peoples for security, stability, and development.
The meeting discussed the latest regional developments, as well as diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, containing conflicts, and enhancing security and stability in the region.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to a number of topics of mutual interest. (QNA)
