Doha, August 20 (QNA) – The State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Turkiye, in their capacity as mediating countries, strongly condemned the recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, which led to civilian casualties, including women and children, voicing their deep concern over the ongoing violations.
In a joint statement, the mediating countries stressed that the escalation of Israeli attacks undermines regional and international efforts at a critical stage, as intensive efforts are underway to implement the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, including the meeting between the Peace Council and Israeli officials, and taking constructive steps in the negotiation process.
The mediating countries also stressed the need for Israel to fully comply with all its obligations under the ceasefire agreement, and to refrain from any actions that would weaken the ceasefire or lead to an escalation of tensions.
In light of the devastating consequences of the ongoing Israeli aggression in the region, the mediating countries renewed their call to the international community and the Peace Council under the leadership of HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump to take the necessary steps to ensure compliance with the ceasefire in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2803, and to exert effective pressure to prevent any further escalation.
