Warsaw, August 21 (QNA) – Qatar’s national athletics team pole vaulter Saif Al Din Mohamed set a new Qatari record in the pole vault at the Sopot Athletics Meet in Poland on Thursday.
Mohamed, who won the 2025 Asian Athletics Federation’s Best U-23 Athlete Award, cleared 5.90 meters, continuing his run of breaking personal records and setting new marks in the Gulf and West Asia.
Two weeks ago, Mohamed cleared 5.83 meters at the Jokgrimm Athletics Meet in Germany, setting a new record and surpassing his previous mark of 5.62 meters, achieved at last year’s Arab Championships in Algeria.
The athlete is among the members of the Qatar national team set to compete at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan next month. (QNA)
