Doha, August 21 (QNA) – Qatar’s U-17 volleyball team lost 3-0 to France on Friday in their second Group A match at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U17 World Championship Doha 2026, currently being held in Doha until Aug. 29.
France dominated the match at Aspire’s Women’s Sports Hall, winning all three sets by the same score of 25-11 to claim their second victory in the group and secure qualification for the next round.
Qatar will conclude their Group A campaign against Tunisia on Sunday in an important Arab clash, as they look to secure a positive result.
Qatar player Ahmed Hamdy said after the match that the team faced a strong French side and that the players gave their best effort. 
He acknowledged that greater concentration could have helped them produce a better performance, adding that the match provided valuable experience ahead of the Tunisia game.
Hamdy described the upcoming encounter with Tunisia as important and competitive, stressing that the team would prepare well and give its best to achieve a positive result.
In other second-round matches, Argentina beat Mexico 3-0, Iran defeated Pakistan 3-0, Italy overcame India 3-1, and Bulgaria beat Spain 3-1. 
The second round of the competition will continue on Saturday with several matches, including Tunisia vs. Venezuela, Brazil vs. Poland, Cuba vs. Romania, Chinese Taipei vs. Algeria, and Egypt vs. Turkiye. (QNA)
