Wad Madani, August 24, 2026 (SUNA) — A joint meeting between the University of Gezira and the Gezira Scheme Administration discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in digital transformation and the deployment of modern technologies to develop agricultural management and improve institutional performance in support of efforts to modernize and advance the Gezira Scheme. The meeting also discussed the importance of building an integrated digital system to improve planning and decision-making, develop information systems and databases, and enhance integration and connectivity among the various departments of the Gezira Scheme in line with modern developments in the management of major agricultural projects. The two sides explored opportunities to benefit from the academic and consultancy expertise available at the University of Gezira and utilize it to design practical digital solutions suited to the nature and needs of the Gezira Scheme. They also discussed areas of cooperation in systems analysis, data management, digital governance, and the development of monitoring and evaluation systems. Participants stressed the importance of moving beyond fragmented digital solutions toward an integrated strategic vision for digital transformation, making technology an effective tool for improving productivity and efficiency, enhancing transparency, strengthening resource management, and supporting data-driven decision-making.BH/BH
