Wad Madani, August 24, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabrounon, Monday laid the foundation stones for the Martyr Housing City and Martyr Tower in Wad Madani. The ceremony was attended by Mortada Ismail Al-Baili, Secretary-General of the state government and representative of the Wali along with members of the state security committee. The Defense Minister reassured the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) that the families of martyrs in Al-Gezira State are in safe hands, thanks to the efforts of the state government and benevolent citizens. He affirmed that Al-Gezira State had set a model example in supporting the families of martyrs. He called on philanthropists and business leaders to contribute to productive projects for the families of martyrs, announcing that the services provided by the Martyr Organization would cover all martyrs. He also announced plans to establish productive cities for young people. He said Sudan had passed the test through patience, determination, and perseverance. Meanwhile, Director-General of the National Housing Corporation, Major General Engineer and Abbas Ibrahim, announced coordination with the states and the Housing Fund to establish residential cities for the families of martyrs.BH/BH
