The Higher Committee preparing for the Sudan-Turkey Trade and Industrial Cooperation Forum reviewed the forum’s action plan and final arrangements during a meeting on Monday chaired by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Dr. Awad Salam. The committee heard reports from the various subcommittees responsible for preparations and arrangements for the forum. It also discussed identifying projects, scientific and economic papers, and accompanying activities, as well as engaging experts and relevant institutions. Dr. Awad Salam said the forum aims to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Sudan and Turkey through a direct platform bringing together businesspeople and investors, while showcasing investment opportunities in the industrial and commercial sectors and engaging the private sector in advancing trade relations through partnerships and investments. The Undersecretary said Turkey is a strategic partner in supporting Sudan’s reconstruction, particularly in the areas of agriculture, energy, mining, and infrastructure. During the meeting, reports from the Projects, Foreign Relations, and Services Committees were reviewed, with emphasis on the need for thorough preparations to present a positive image of Sudan as a country offering promising investment opportunities in the coming period. The meeting also stressed the importance of close coordination with the Turkish side and establishing a designated point of contact to ensure the forum’s success through broad participation by businesspeople.BH/BH
