Registration Opens for 13th Omani
Song Festival
Muscat, 25 Aug 2026 (ONA) — The
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth today announced the opening of
registration for the 13th edition of the Omani Song Festival, scheduled to take
place from 3 to 6 January 2027.
The festival is a national
artistic event dedicated to Omani music and singing, seeking to showcase Omani
talents and voices, support musical creativity, and enhance the presence and
evolution of the Omani song in step with artistic developments at both the
local and regional levels.
The festival serves as a platform
to celebrate Omani musical achievements, discover promising artistic talents,
and strengthen connections between artists, musicians, and those with an
interest in the arts—thereby enriching the Omani music scene and consolidating
the standing of the Omani song on domestic and regional stages.
The Ministry has set forth the
participation requirements for the festival. Omani talents in the field of
singing are eligible to apply, with participants required to be between the
ages of 18 and 39. Applicants must submit a video clip performing a song of
their choice, through which they demonstrate their vocal and performance
abilities, with the clip not exceeding two minutes in duration. The deadline
for receipt of submitted works has been set for 31 October.
