Amman, Aug. 26 (Petra) – Jordan Food & Drug Administration (JFDA) met
with the “My Health in My School” initiative to discuss joint
cooperation avenues in promoting a culture of food safety within the
school environment and raising health awareness for students,
parents, and educational staff.

This initiative is part of the JFDA’s efforts to ensure availability
of safe food, including food sold in school canteens.

The meeting brought together JFDA Director General Dr. Rana Obeidat,
Initiative Head Dr. Alaa Zoubi, alongside several directors and
relevant staff.

According to a JFDA statement, discussions focused on action plans to
deliver a series of awareness lectures and develop specialized and
simplified educational content.

On its goals, the JFDA said this content will spur students to apply
healthy food safety practices, promote sound health behaviors and
raise awareness among parents and educational staff about the
importance of providing a safe and healthy school environment.

During the meeting, both sides affirmed their commitment to raise
awareness of food safety standards in school canteens, support
national efforts aimed at promoting school health, and build a
healthy and safe educational atmopshere that contributes to
protecting students’ health.
