Moscow, August 26 (Petra) – The Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday
condemned all Israeli settlement projects in the occupied West Bank,
warning of the repercussions of continued settlement expansion and
violence against Palestinians.
The ministry said such violations undermine prospects for achieving
stability in the region and further diminish the chances of resolving
the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
In a statement, the ministry said continued settlement activity
constitutes a violation of international law and relevant UN
resolutions.
It called for an end to unilateral measures that could further
escalate tensions and urged steps to create conditions conducive to
reviving the political process and reaching a resolution to the
Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
