Ramallah, Aug. 27 (Petra)– Several areas across the occupied West
Bank and Jerusalem witnessed an intensified wave of Israeli
violations on Thursday, leaving two women and a child wounded by
Israeli gunfire in Hebron, while demolition orders and operations
were carried out in Jerusalem and Tubas, alongside a wide-scale
arrest campaign.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that Israeli
forces stormed the town of Al-Karmel and deployed along its streets
before raiding several Palestinian homes and turning them into
military posts. The forces then opened live fire at a vehicle
carrying several women, wounding two women and a child in the face
and head.

Qassem Abu Aram, head of the Al-Karmel municipality and husband of
one of the injured women, said his wife came under heavy gunfire from
Israeli soldiers without warning, and that there had been no military
checkpoint or any visible indication that the town was being raided.

He said his wife, Sanaa Abu Aram, and child Lana Al-Haroush sustained
gunshot wounds to the face and were in serious condition, while Duaa
Al-Haroush was wounded by shrapnel in the face.

In a separate development, Israeli forces demolished structures in
Khirbet Ras Al-Ahmar, southeast of Tubas in the northeastern West
Bank.

Mutaz Basharat, the official responsible for monitoring Israeli
violations in the Tubas governorate, said Israeli bulldozers began
demolishing residential and agricultural structures and livestock
sheds, while also destroying a groundwater well and confiscating its
equipment in areas classified as Area B.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces handed out nearly 30 demolition notices
targeting homes, walls, agricultural structures and livestock sheds
in the town of Anata, east of occupied Jerusalem.

Anata Mayor Bassam Musa said Israeli forces raided the Wadi Al-Bayk
area and posted demolition notices giving residents seven days to
remove the structures, citing construction without permits.

Israeli authorities issued demolition notices for 34 Palestinian
structures last month, mainly in the governorates of Bethlehem,
Hebron and Jenin.

Israeli forces also raided cities and towns across the West Bank and
occupied Jerusalem on Thursday, carrying out widespread searches and
arrests. The raids coincided with the entry of settlers into Joseph’s
Tomb in eastern Nablus, amid clashes and attacks targeting media and
medical crews.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said Israeli forces arrested 18
Palestinians, alleging that they were wanted.
