State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Nour Abdel-Daim, affirmed that Sudan is going through a pivotal stage requiring concerted efforts, stressing that members of the Sudanese community in Saudi Arabia are key partners in the country’s recovery and economic development. Abdel-Daim called on Sudanese living abroad to return and contribute to the reconstruction phase, revealing exemptions approved by the Prime Minister covering solar energy equipment, water fees, and personal furniture. He added that efforts are continuing to review the list of exemptions. He announced the imminent launch in Saudi Arabia of an electronic payment system through banking applications, in coordination with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, to facilitate financial transactions for Sudanese citizens. The minister praised the Kingdom’s support for the Sudanese and congratulated the Sudanese Armed Forces on their victories. He also explained that the ministry is working on a strategy to convert current expenditures into capital assets at embassies and consulates, thereby strengthening the state’s presence. His remarks came during his participation in laying the foundation stone for the new headquarters of the Sudanese Consulate General in Jeddah, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Consul General. The minister stressed that the next phase requires harnessing the expertise of Sudanese abroad to support stability and development.The visit comes on the sidelines of discussions with the Islamic Development Bank Group on prospects for cooperation and support for economic stability in Sudan.BH/BH
