Khartoum, August 30, 2026 (SUNA) – Nabil Adeeb, a member of the Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue Committee, affirmed that the committee does not claim to hold a mandate from any official authority, stressing that its legitimacy stems from the extent to which it is accepted by the Sudanese people and its ability to carry out the task it has undertaken. Speaking during the committee’s press conference on Sunday at Al-Salam Rotana Hotel in Khartoum, Adeeb said the committee does not derive its authority from an official body that has mandated it to carry out this task, but rather from “the extent of its acceptance and its usefulness in accomplishing what it has promised.” He explained that the measure of the committee’s success would be its ability to play an effective and useful role in creating the conditions for the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and in fulfilling its declared objectives and commitments, stressing that acceptance and trust would be the foundation for the continuation of its work.BH/BH
