Qatar Discuss Enhancing Commercial, Industrial, Investment Cooperation

3 Sep 2026 (ONA) — Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and
Investment Promotion, and Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of
Transport, Communications and Information Technology, discussed today at
“Invest Oman” lounge with Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister
of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar, ways to enhance economic,
commercial, industrial, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
They
also explored new horizons for partnership in a number of sectors of mutual
interest.
During
the meeting, economic and commercial relations between the Sultanate of Oman
and the State of Qatar were reviewed, alongside discussing available
opportunities to expand areas of cooperation, particularly in commercial,
industrial, and investment sectors, as well as sectors related to transport,
logistics, and modern technologies, in a manner that contributes to enhancing
economic integration and benefiting from the potential and opportunities in the
two countries.
The
meeting also covered ways to enhance mutual investments, encourage private
sector institutions in both countries to establish qualitative partnerships and
projects, and benefit from available investment opportunities, thereby
contributing to supporting economic diversification, maximizing added value,
and enhancing the competitiveness of the Omani and Qatari economies.
The
two sides discussed the importance of enhancing communication between
businesspeople in the two countries and continuing coordination and integration
between concerned entities, contributing to developing trade and investment
movement, creating more opportunities for investors, and opening broader
horizons for partnerships and joint projects in promising sectors.
The
meeting was attended by Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the
Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment
Promotion; Eng. Ghalib bin Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry for
Commerce and Industry; Eng. Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shammakhi, Undersecretary of
the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for
Transport; Sayyid Saleh bin Majid Al Khulaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for
Industry Affairs and Business Development at the Qatari Ministry of Commerce
and Industry; Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Jassim Mohammed Al Thani, Ambassador of
the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman; and a number of officials from the
Omani and Qatari sides.
The
visit comes within the framework of the firm fraternal relations connecting the
Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar and the continuous development they undergo
across various fields. It reflects the keenness of both countries to build upon
the achieved economic cooperation and transition it toward broader horizons by
enhancing qualitative investments, developing commercial, industrial, and
investment partnerships, and exploring new areas of cooperation, supporting the
paths of development and economic diversification and achieving the mutual
interests of the two countries.
