Al-Baqaa, March 16 (Petra) — The Director General of the National Center for Agricultural Research (NCAR), Nizar Haddad, and China’s ambassador to Jordan Chen Quandong, Thursday discussed in Amman cooperation in agriculture and climate, water and energy challenges.
Haddad said the meeting is part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between China and Jordan, especially in science and research in agricultural and environmental areas and in fish farming, tropical cultivation and the introduction of agricultural mechanisation.
He noted that the NCAR is keen to enhance cooperation in research, implementing pilot projects and leveraging China’s expertise in agriculture, adding that China is a “pioneer” in agricultural research and biotechnology.
Quandong commended the “pioneering” role of the centre in deploying the outputs of scientific research and transferring modern technology, noting the capabilities available in the NCAR.
