Jordan participates in 2023 Cairo International Book Fair

Cairo, Jan. 25 (Petra) – Jordan is participating as a guest of honor in the activities of 2023 Cairo International Book Fair, in its 54th edition.

Egyptian Prime Minister, Mustafa Madbouly, inaugurated the fair’s activities on behalf of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the presence of Jordanian Minister of Culture, Haifa Najjar and the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Cairo, Amjad Adaleh, and a number of culture ministers and representatives of the participating countries.

Touring Jordan’s Guest of Honor Pavilion, Najjar briefed Egyptian premier on its displays and the participating Jordanian activities.

Madbouly valued Jordan’s participation in the event as the guest of honor, pointing to the “solid” Jordanian-Egyptian relations, joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries’ leaderships .

He also expressed Egypt’s pride in Jordan’s culture, diversity of its identity and its influential Arab role.

For her part, Najjar thanked Egyptian cultural authorities for providing facilitations to succeed Jordan’s “wide” participation, which featured about 10,000 recent publications and about 250 others sponsored by the ministry.

Jordan’s participation came under the theme: “Jordan, Civilization of the Past and Creativity of the Future”, and featured literary, cultural and folkloric activities aimed to introduce diverse Jordanian heritage and creative product, in addition to Jordan’s pavilion launched to display quality books and publications.
