Qatar inaugurates 5 new power stations to feed World Cup stadiums

Doha, November 10 (Petra) – Qatar announced today, Thursday, the completion of construction works for five new power stations that feed the 2022 World Cup stadiums, at a cost of $219.7 million.
The head of the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “Kahramaa”, Engineer Issa bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, said that the new power stations will cover the needs of sports facilities, including stadiums and all other things.
He added that these stations are “Mahairja Al-Kubra” station feeding Khalifa International Stadium, “Al-Wukair Station 1” which provides the necessary nutrition for the operation of Al-Janoub Stadium, “Al-Jahaniya 3” station, which feeds Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, and “Al-Hidan” station, which provides the necessary nutrition for the stadium. The house, and the “Ras Abu Aboud 2” station, which feeds Stadium 974.
He pointed out that KAHRAMAA took into account in the planning of these stations and projects issues of legacy and operational sustainability, as these stations will feed the surrounding areas in the future, to provide advanced infrastructure to support the continuous economic renaissance experienced by the State of Qatar, as well as taking into account that this infrastructure has an active role in the process Continuous development that the institution is working on.
