Al-Burhan from “Al-Kalakla”: The People and the Army Are One Hand to Defeat the Rebellion—No Return for Beggars in Foreign Capitals

Khartoum, 30 January 2026 (SUNA) — President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said the determination of the Sudanese people and their unity around the armed forces constitute the surest guarantee of victory over the rebel militia and its final eradication.Speaking after performing Friday prayers at Al-Sheikh Al-Hadiyya Complex in Al-Kalakla Al-Qubba, Al-Burhan praised local residents and community initiatives, describing Al-Kalakla as a living model of steadfast attachment to the land and resistance to injustice and rebellion. He addressed those casting doubt on stability, saying Al-Kalakla stands as an example for Sudanese who have chosen reconstruction and the restoration of national cohesion- “the clearest rebuttal to those claiming the country is unsafe in order to obstruct citizens’ return.”Al-Burhan urged citizens not to be swayed by what he called the narratives of skeptics, opportunists, traitors, and agents opposing the return of the population. He called on Sudanese to return and contribute to rehabilitating vital facilities and rebuilding, announcing that conditions have stabilized across wide areas. He stressed that return is voluntary for those who wish to do so, adding that during the holy month of Ramadan Sudanese returnees will be brought together. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces saluted the steadfastness of the Sudanese people, noting they have sacrificed lives and property so that all may enjoy security. “We have begun to reap the fruits of this resilience, whose cost was high,” he said, affirming that the people’s sacrifices will not be in vain.Al-Burhan also sent messages to some foreign countries hosting Abdalla Hamdok and his group, accusing them of acting against their own people and becoming isolated by their conduct. He said the Sudanese people will not accept their return so long as they continue touring world capitals, adding: “Do not think of returning to this country. A people who suffered from your scheming will not open the doors to you again. You will not set foot on Sudanese soil while begging in the name of the people’s causes.”He dismissed allegations circulated by the group regarding the use of chemical weapons by the armed forces, asserting that the Sudanese Armed Forces are a national institution. Such claims, he said, would find no audience among Sudanese, “because the people are the armed forces,” warning that legal action would be taken against anyone attempting to tarnish the military’s reputation.Al-Burhan warned the rebels against continuing to target civilians and restrict their lives in Al-Obeid and Al-Dalang, stressing that the armed forces will not hesitate to protect citizens. He reiterated that “victory is near.”BH/BH
