Al-Eisir Visits Artillery Command in Atbara, Praises Armed Forces and Supporting Units in Battle of Dignity

Atbara, Jan. 29, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities Khalid Al-Eisir commended the vital national role of the Artillery Corps and the contributions of the Armed Forces and their supporting units in the Battle of Dignity.Speaking during a meeting at the Artillery Guest House with Artillery Corps Commander Major General Mohamed Al-Amin, and in the presence of Wali of the Nile River State Dr. Mohamed El-Badawi Abdal-Majid Abuqroun, Al-Eisir expressed the federal government’s gratitude for the sacrifices of artillery personnel and supporting forces in safeguarding the country’s unity and cohesion.He emphasized the importance of studying the War of Dignity to understand its effects and derive lessons for national development. Referring to his visits to the Medical Corps in Omdurman and the Moral Guidance Directorate, the minister highlighted the continuing sacrifices and efforts made for the nation.Al-Eisir praised the institutional cooperation in the Nile River State between the armed forces, government agencies, and executive bodies, describing it as a pillar of the state’s successes under the leadership of the Wali. He called for continued collaboration among all state institutions and across other states to mitigate the war’s negative effects and support future nation-building efforts.The minister also expressed appreciation for the state government’s support of national and state media institutions operating from Atbara. He noted that the ministry is simultaneously advancing initiatives in culture, tourism, and antiquities, including recovering looted and stolen artifacts. He added that the Nile River State will see significant coordination in establishing a second regional complex for the General Corporation for Radio and Television and the creation of a tourist village.Major General Al-Amin thanked the Wali and the federal minister for their visit and support to the Artillery Corps.AS/BH
