Cairo, Nov. 19 (Petra) — Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the UN Security Council’s resolution calling for an end to the Gaza war marks the beginning of the road and requires additional efforts to translate it into a reality that improves the lives of Palestinians.
In a statement issued late Tuesday, he noted that the resolution reflects an international commitment to rebuilding Gaza and reinforces the path toward establishing a Palestinian state.
Aboul Gheit also expressed hope for the implementation of the second phase of the action plan and for ensuring the entry of essential aid needed for reconstruction, as well as achieving an end to the occupation and restoring stability in the region.
