Amman, Dec. 30 (Petra) – The Jordan Armed Forces and the Arab Potash Company on Tuesday signed an addendum to their existing agreement on the detection, survey, and clearance of landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW), in the presence of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Yousef Hunaiti and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Potash Company Shehadeh Abu Hudeib.
The addendum was signed on behalf of the Jordan Armed Forces by the Director of the Royal Engineering Corps and on behalf of the Arab Potash Company by its Chief Executive Officer, Maan Nusour.
The amended agreement aims to expand and regulate technical cooperation between the two sides by utilizing the specialized expertise, equipment, and operational capabilities of the Royal Engineering Corps in mine action activities, including technical survey, search, clearance, and risk mitigation within the company’s concession areas.
The cooperation will be implemented in accordance with approved occupational health, safety, and public safety policies, enabling the Arab Potash Company to proceed with ongoing operations and future expansion projects while ensuring compliance with the highest safety and security standards.
