Amman, October 28 (Petra) – Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti met on Tuesday with the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Michael Claesson, in Stockholm, Sweden.
During the meeting, Huneiti underscored the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two armed forces, praising the level of military coordination and cooperation that contributes to supporting efforts to enhance regional and international security and stability.
For his part, Claesson emphasised the importance of further developing avenues of joint military cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces and enhancing the exchange of expertise in various areas of mutual interest.
Huneiti met with the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Carl-Johan Edstr?m, at the Swedish Army Command headquarters.
In the presence of a number of senior Swedish Armed Forces officers and the Swedish non-resident defense attaché, the two sides discussed ways to bolster military cooperation in training, operational and logistical fields, as well as mechanisms for exchanging expertise in defense and security.
