Amman, Dec. 3 (Petra) — The Eastern Military Zone thwarted, early Wednesday, two attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics into its area of responsibility using balloons equipped with rudimentary guidance devices.
The incidents were intercepted and the balloons, along with their cargo, were brought down within Jordanian territory after being detected at two separate locations by Border Guard forces in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Directorate.
The confiscated materials have been handed over to the relevant authorities for the necessary legal procedures.
