
At HM’s Behest, Foreign Minister Participates in Sharm El-Sheikh Peace SummitSharm El-Sheikh, 13 Oct (ONA) —- At the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, led the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman participating in the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.Hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh, the summit convened numerous world leaders and representatives of regional and international organizations to deliberate on efforts to solidify the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and advance the path toward a just and comprehensive peace in the region.During the proceedings, the mediating nations—the United States of America, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Qatar—signed the “Peace Document” in the presence of the assembled leaders and delegation heads. This step signifies a strengthening international consensus in favor of a political settlement and de-escalation.In a formal statement on this occasion, Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister conveyed Oman’s appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Donald Trump for their leadership in convening this historic summit. He observed that the past two years have been marked by horrific human tragedies, and affirmed that the ceasefire has preserved hundreds of lives and restored hope to thousands of Palestinian families. He underscored that the present moment constitutes a genuine opportunity to initiate a serious process toward securing comprehensive and lasting justice for this valued region of the world.He further noted that the path forward remains long and fraught with challenges. However, he emphasized that sincere cooperation and collective action significantly improve the prospects for a future founded on lasting peace and shared prosperity.
