Tunisia Africa News Agency - TAP

The Tunis Africa Press Agency (TAP) was established on January 1, 1961, the date of the official opening of its newsletter. It is considered the main source of national, local and international news in Tunisia since its establishment. The agency produces more than 100,000 cables annually in Arabic, French and English in its national and international newsletters. It also produces more than 50 thousand images annually.

The agency has a huge stock of photos dating back to the pre-independence period, about one and a half million photos, in addition to a documentary stock of more than 12,000 press files and more than 2,500 biographies of Tunisian personalities. The Agency puts these materials at the disposal of journalists, researchers and clients to carry out articles, research and studies.

The agency has implemented in a participatory manner an editorial charter that establishes a professional practice that respects the standards of fair professional press coverage and the rules of professional ethics in accordance with the agency\’s work rules of \”objectivity, impartiality and credibility\”. The agency also produced a \”journalist\’s guide\” for journalists of the Tunis Africa News Agency.

The agency has a multidisciplinary training and training center. The agency also provides real-time news services to subscribers via mobile phone transmissions (SMS).
