Bee’ah-Tech 2 Program Launched
Muscat, 23 Apr (ONA) —— Bee’ah has announced the launch of the
second edition of its “Bee’ah-Tech 2” program, aimed at empowering
university and college students to leverage technology and Fourth Industrial
Revolution innovations in developing cutting-edge solutions for Oman’s waste
management sector.
The initiative seeks to foster a conscious society that supports
the national economy.
The program is designed to strengthen collaboration between
academia and the private sector by engaging students specializing in
environmental, engineering, and technical fields. It encourages them to
transform their ideas into practical solutions that address real-world
challenges in this vital industry.
An introductory tour has kicked off the program, spanning multiple
universities and colleges across Oman’s governorates. The tour aims to
familiarize students with the program’s components and encourage active
participation.
The official training camp will take place on May 9–10, 2025,
featuring specialized workshops and mentorship sessions led by industry
experts. These sessions will help participants refine their ideas and develop
them into viable prototypes.
The program will culminate in a hackathon from May 15–17, 2025,
where competing teams will present innovative technological solutions to
enhance the efficiency and sustainability of waste management.
“Bee’ah-Tech 2” serves as a dynamic platform that
brings together developers, designers, and university students in a
collaborative environment, fostering creativity and generating real-world
solutions. The initiative aligns with Oman’s vision for a sustainable circular
economy.
The first edition of the program, launched in October 2022, saw
participation from students across 12 Omani universities and colleges. A total
of 441 students attended the introductory sessions, with 149 project ideas
submitted through the online platform.
