Civil Defense Responds to Dust-Related Breathing Cases in Ma’an

Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra) – Specialized rescue and ambulance teams responded on Thursday to multiple cases of shortness of breath caused by heavy dust in Ma’an Governorate, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson.

Ambulance teams provided first aid to 13 individuals of Arab nationality affected by the dust and transported them to a safe area. Additionally, nine others who experienced breathing difficulties inside their vehicles were assisted and relocated to safety.

The Civil Defense Directorate also handled reports of vehicles trapped on the desert road, which was severely impacted by heavy dust.

The PSD urged motorists using the Desert Highway to exercise caution due to low or zero visibility in some areas. Authorities advised drivers to follow security personnel instructions, keep vehicle windows tightly closed to prevent dust from entering, and contact the emergency number 911 if needed.
