
Amman, January 28 (Petra) — Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani held a meeting on Tuesday with international institution representatives and donor agencies involved in media development and support.
The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Government Communication was part of the ministry’s ongoing communication efforts with various media sectors in the Kingdom.
Momani said Jordan is committed to supporting media across all segments, emphasising the media’s “vital” role in informing and educating the public. He reiterated the Kingdom’s support for responsible media freedom.
Momani outlined the steps the Ministry of Government Communication has taken to develop a comprehensive future vision for the national media scene. He explained that the first phase of the vision, which involved consultative and interactive meetings with various media sectors, has been completed.
The second phase will focus on forming specialised working groups within media sectors to address challenges. The third phase will involve creating a document detailing the future media vision, complete with time-based implementation tools.
The minister noted that the vision is expected to be announced by mid-year.
The meeting provided an opportunity for international institutions and donors to offer feedback. They emphasised the importance of the future media vision in strengthening the media role, enhancing its tools and adapting to digital and technological developments.
They called for training media professionals on artificial intelligence tools, in line with the evolving media and communication landscape.
