Conference
on Omani Role in Promoting Ethics Issues Recommendations

Kuala
Lumpur, 6 Nov (ONA) – The Ninth International Scientific Conference in Malaysia,
titled “The Omani Role in Promoting Ethics Between Theory and
Practice,” concluded today by affirming in its recommendations the need to
embody ethics and pride in identity as a tangible reality in human life.

The
Conference also recommended that the message of ethics should be a practical,
realistic message that primarily engages with theory only as a reminder. It
stressed that ethics should not disregard heritage for the sake of the present
based on discrimination, but rather should be based on the principles of
affirmation, consolidation, and promotion by embodying ethics as a living
reality. This is to be achieved while maintaining pride in their eternal
Quranic reference and holding fast to an unwavering identity that resists
surrendering to the dominant culture and does not shy away from highlighting
its comprehensive and rich cultural and civilizational heritage in all matters
of life.

The
conference was organized over three days by the Omani Research and Studies
Center at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in collaboration
with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (represented by the Iftaa
Office). It included ten sessions where participants presented their insights
on the themes related to the Omani role in promoting ethics between theory and
practice through the embodiment of ethics as a tangible reality.
