Details of Tour of Oman 2026 Unveiled
Muscat, 21 Jan 2026 (ONA) — The Ministry of Culture, Sports,
and Youth today unveiled the details of the 15th edition of the Tour of Oman 2026,
which will commence on 6 February with the participation of 18 international
teams. This was announced during a press conference held today.
Saif Sabaa Al Rashidi, Chairman
of Oman Cycling Association and Director of Tour of Oman, stated that the Tour
was launched in 2010 and has witnessed significant development, becoming one of
the most prominent cycling races worldwide. Over time, it has risen to
prominence on the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) calendar, establishing it
as a premier global sporting event, he pointed out.
He added, “This edition will
feature 18 international teams alongside Oman team. The race stages have been
approved, beginning with the ‘Muscat Classic’ race from Al Mawj to Al Bustan,
covering a distance of 179.165 kilometers. The first stage of the Tour will
start from the Flagpole in Muscat Governorate to Hawyat
Jijm (Sink Hole) in
the Wilayat of Quriyat, covering 174.838 kilometers. The second stage will run
from Al Fayha in the Wilayat of Samail to Al Jabal Al Sharqi in the Wilayat of
Al Hamra, spanning 193.442 kilometers. The third stage will start from A’Rustaq
Fort to Yitti, covering 194.968 kilometers. The Tour’s fourth stage will run
from Al Suwadi Beach in the Wilayat of Barka to the Wilayat of Sohar, a
distance of 151.263 kilometers. The final stage will start from the Wilayat of
Nizwa to the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, covering 159.270 kilometers.”
