Amman, Sept 1 (Petra) – Minister of State for Economic Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh said on Monday that the industrial sector is one of the most important drivers of Jordan’s national economy.

Speaking during the sectoral workshops for the preparation of the second executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) 2026–2029, dedicated to the industrial sector and held at the Prime Ministry, Shehadeh said the vision transcends governments. He added that this is reflected in the economic policy of Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan’s government, which places strong emphasis on industry due to its direct impact on domestic economic indicators.

Shehadeh stressed the need to adopt actionable initiatives and work plans with clear timelines that can have a tangible impact on the national economy and industry in all its branches, particularly regarding GDP contribution and job creation. He pointed to the opportunities available to the sector, clearly demonstrated by record national export figures to Syria, Iraq and other Arab and international markets.
