Amman, September 2 (Petra) – Minister of Environment Dr. Ayman Suleiman discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and partnerships in the nature conservation and sustainable development fields at the regional level.
The minister’s remarks came during a visit on Monday to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Regional Office for West Asia at its headquarters in Amman.
Suleiman was briefed by the IUCN Regional Director, Dr. Hani Al-Shaer, on the union’s role in promoting conservation and sustainability efforts across the region.
The minister also toured the office to learn about its key programs and projects, as well as achievements of its three programs and initiatives in West Asia.
Talking at the visit, Suleiman said the ministry looks forward to expanding the cooperation scope to protect natural resources, support local communities, and enhance Jordan’s leadership in environmental work.
In turn, Al-Shaer stressed the importance of close cooperation with Ministry of Environment and national partners to ensure practical and sustainable solutions.
Al-Shaer noted the IUCN World Congress 2025 will be a key platform for showcasing the region’s achievements on the international stage.
